Day 14

They have finally arrived at Gately on the Nile, which is an air-conditioned hotel where they can shower and get refreshed. They met a guy today who was having a very large church service outside and many people came and they enjoyed being with that group today. They have been shopping in Jinga and by and large relaxing. Please pray for Julia as she is now experiencing some stomach problems and also for Emily as she has ulcers in her mouth and throat from what she picked up with the fever, Katie and Susan have done a good job taking care of them. Today at church Bruce Baker suggested that I let all of you know when they are returning in case you wanted to be at the airport to greet them home. They get in on Tuesday on Continental Flight #360 at 5:50 PM. Thanks, Bruce! Larry C. Nail

Day 12 An offer for Julia

The team is on the island of Kachanga today and thank the Lord everyone is doing well and Emily has no fever!! Thank you for all your prayers for my Emily! There was a pastor's conference on the island with 10 pastors participating and they asked Greg, Tommy and Alyssa to share. The men requested that our church back in America send 10 Bibles per church (total of 100) to help them in their various churches. They have some great needs. Someone wanted to take Julia for 50 cows!! Wow...that is a lot of hamburger meat but the team declined on this particular opportunity. Tomorrow they will arrive in Jinga and will be climbing a large mountain overlooking the various islands. They told me that they plan to pray and sing many praises from the top of that mountain! I am so proud of them all as I know you and more importantly the Lord is for their sacrifices on this trip. Larry C. Nail

Day 11 We had to know this was coming =)

The trip continues to go well with mercy bags being passed out on the islands. Julia wants to adopt a child from each of the islands and her statement "My parents will have to deal with it." haha. Tommy was not feeling well but has made a turn for the better. Please pray for Emily as she had very high fever (104) and it is finally breaking. She asked me to please pray for her right now for restoration of health! They team is going over to Bavuma Island later today and then will come back and sleep on the island where the tents are. They will spend all day Friday on Bavuma and then leave for Jinga Saturday morning. Larry C. Nail

Day 10

I spoke to Greg Lewis and he told me a man on the island came to them with a huge cancerous growth on his testicles. Under banana trees, Katie preformed major surgery with Susan assisting and the growth came right off removing the cancer! At midnight after they arrived on another island, Greg was awakened by his translator as this man was back because he had been moving around a lot, he was bleeding a lot. Katie and Susan cleaned it and re sutured it and the report the day after was that he was fine and had no fever! They went to another part of this small island to some of the poorest people of Kenyan decent. A lady asked them to pray for her daughter who had been very ill. Another lady begged them for a Bible as she wants to read it and was overjoyed to get one! The other lady who had the ill child came back today and told them that she was totally healed. There was also a man who had three children as his wife had left him and he also wanted a Bible. As the team was leaving the village, he was sitting down reading it! Please keep praying for the team. They have worked so hard and are very tired but all very excited for what God has done through them. What a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ and I know you are proud of each of them!! Larry C. Day 8

More great news from the islands. Tommy preached last night and 35 to 45 came forward to accept Christ as their Savior. The Lord is using the team for His Glory. The following day the team found a 6 year old caring for a 2 year old because their parents are alcoholics. The 6 year old gathers what food they can find for each other mainly fruit. The team found a family that would care for the children. Thank God! When they left the island of Kachanga the feeling was now one of joy instead of darkness.

They arrived on Museneni Island which Greg described as the Serengetti -- very flat land with a well but no church. They are having church as Lupe and Emily conducted a bible school for the kids and 35 walked forward to accept Jesus. According to Greg, the kids really wanted what they shared! Greg also mentioned on Lufu that they pulled the well because it was broken and gave them the $150 for a part to have it fixed. Pastor Edward on the island was very glad and very appreciative.

Please continue to pray for the team as they are well but tired. Especially pray for Katie for God to restore her strength and energy. They gave both Katie and Susan a break from clinic today to get some rest. Greg asked to continue to pray for God to move and them (the team) to get out of the way!
